Meredith S Peverill is a Richmond based multi-media artist who indulges in painting, printmaking, comic book illustration, and metalworking.
Patchwork describes a gathering of collected materials and experiences; whether beautifully stitched or haphazardly cobbled together is for the viewer to decide. My focus is on a process of selection.
In the past, a patchwork quilt was comprised of many well-worn garments all with stories that composed a larger tale by proximity to one another. They reflect how we relate to one another by location: our stories live alongside each others'.
The context of the resulting product is significant only (beyond utility or admiration) to those who contributed.
